Ill take summer

was hoping for spring but now Ive moved past it to summer. Listening to really poppy summer music, and a great mix on songza called laying in the lake, drinking agave margaritas, making fish tacos (mahi-mahi and veggies marinated in whole foods tequila-lime sauce and sautéed until we can start using the grill again...when the snow melts...again) with this crema sauce.

My sweetest dog ever who has been by my side always for the past 8 years is no longer. My heart is heavy and I miss her a lot but am very thankful for the wonderful times we had together.
Picking her up at her eastern washington farm - as we were leaving her sticking her nose into the wind and taking one last breath of the farm air and running up to her brothers and sisters and giving them one last kiss
The ride home to seattle - she laid in my lap the whole way.
Our long walks in the seattle arboretum every day.

How scared she was of thunderstorms the first time she heard them in MN
I think they may have turned her nose pink
Her unconditional love
All her furballs (I know in the moment this may not have been my favorite part...)
How sweet she was with our babies and as they grew how gentle and friendly she always was with them
The best cooking assistant always there to taste anything - bacon and roasted chicken especially
So thankful I made roast chicken the night she died and fed her a bunch!
Greeting us at the door always
Working with me in my office (her job to nap as close to me as possible)
Going to sleep early with me or staying up late with us.
Getting up with me if I couldnt sleep in the middle of the night.
Her running circles in the yard
Her unbelievable frisbee skills
Her awesome howl/yodels of love

Her wagging tail

Her sweet eyes that watched us in everything we did and connected with us all the time

oh lulu I miss you.
I wish we could have spent more time with you.
Im glad I got to hold you as you took your last breath and it was here in our house

winter birthdays

14 little girls.
a winter wonderland party...but it rained the day before and then dropped to 8 degrees the next day so winter wonderland turned into a scary accidental ice rink in our back yard.
sooo 14 little girls in our house = the next day I got the flu.

I think r still had a good time. we made snowglobes....that leaked - I tried to using hot glue - I think it needs to be epoxy. played feed the snowman and snowball races (inside versions) we still had a quick outdoor scavenger hunt and in for hot chocolate and cake. It was a little wild but we made it and even got through the flu. Ok winter can be over now.

Such a great age - so much fun - so sweet and simple still. It was her first friend birthday party - she  had 4 little friends at her party - they made crowns, played pin the tail on the dragon, and ate cake and ice-cream - perfect.

what a whirlwind this holiday season was - I had over 1,000 sales!
I was not prepared for that - um at all - so there were a lot of scrambles -  reordering, reprinting, asking friends, my husband and family to help me. Though it was a little wild it was totally worth it. So thankful to all the wonderful blogs that mentioned my calendar, oh beautiful paper, a cup of jo, designsponge, miss moss, poppytalk...

And so grateful to etsy who asked me to be a featured seller! I was featured last week - it was so nice to get my thoughts together about what I have been doing and then to get so many encouraging words back was so awesome!

ok Ive had half a breath - its time to start sketching and dreaming for next year.

snap crafted pop

such a great event - snap crafted pop created by my friend Jen Knoch. This year it was in the old hardware store in linden hills - she did such a great job cleaning the store up and making it completely festive! It was so busy - hard to even find a place to stand - met some great people and got to hang out with some old co-workers that also had shops there. One of the highlights was this adorable barbershop quartet that came in and sang holiday songs - one was something about lutefisk.
