patio parties...

soon - collecting some ideas

Fiery Mandarin - great drink we had at the jade bar at the sanctuary
2 ounces Absolut vodka
1 slice jalapeño, muddled
Zest of 1/3 orange
1 ounce cranberry juice
1/2 ounce lemon juice
3/4 ounce simple syrup (see note)
Jalapeño slice for garnish

Place first 6 ingredients in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake for 6 seconds. Double strain. Serve in a chilled martini glass and garnish with jalapeño slice. Makes 1 serving.
Note: To make simple syrup, combine 1 cup water and 1 cup sugar in a medium saucepan. Bring the mixture to a boil and let the sugar dissolve. Remove from heat and allow to cool. Simple syrup can be stored for a month.
